Pre Care Instructions

Before you get your spray tan, you should:

  • Wax 24 hours (or more) before your appointment. 

  • Shower, shave, and exfoliate at least 4 hours before your appointment. 

  • Come to your appointment with clean skin. No lotions or other beauty products.

  • Bring loose-fitting clothes to change into immediately after your spray tan. (No denim, no yoga pants, no tight bras or underwear.)

Post Care Instructions 

The Day of Your Spray Tan​

  • Wear loose fitting clothing. (No denim, no bras, and no yoga pants.) Ideally, wear a long t-shirt dress.

  • Do NOT go more than than 24 hours after your appointment to shower.

  • Plan for no hard activity, sweating or activity following your spray tan.

Your First Shower After Your Spray Tan

  • Be gentle. Use gently warm water and the palms of your hands to rinse surface bronzer off your skin. Avoid harsh scrubbing, hot water, generic bar soap (recommended bar to use Dove soap). You will see some bronzer wash away – this is normal!

  • Do not use any oil based shower gel or body oil.

  • Pat yourself dry, do not rub your skin.

  • Moisturize with an oil-free moisturizer.

The Week Ahead

  • To preserve your tan, avoid swimming, long showers, baths, steam rooms, and saunas.

  • Avoid face and body cleansers and treatments that are exfoliating in nature such as Retin A, Salicylic Acid, Glycol Acid and others.

  • Avoid harsh chemicals such as chlorine, massages, fashion tape, bandages, and anything else that may strip your tan.

  • Moisturize in the AM and PM with an oil-free moisturizer.

  • Don’t exfoliate until you are ready to say Adios! to your Glow! 

FAQs

What do I wear to my session?

Loose fitting clothing is a must and preferably dark colored. There will be some transfer to clothing after spraying, so avoid light colors.

Will it make me orange?

No! Orange Discoloration is mostly due to improper mixology or failure to use proper before or after care.

How long will the tan last? 

Anywhere from 3-7 days usually! Some clients get 10+ days. This all depends on your skin tone prior to tanning along with how you care for the tan afterwards.

What do I tan in?

Anything you are comfortable being in! Most tan to avoid lines especially if tanning for a special occasion or event.

How long does the session last?

20-30 minutes is a typical appointment time.

Is it safe?

The main ingredient in the solution used is DHA.

DHA is a colorless chemical (it is derived from glycerin) that interacts with the amino acids in dead skin cells to produce a brown color change.

Can pregnant or nursing mothers spray tan?

We always recommend consulting your doctor before having a spray session.
